Job Overview:

The Party City Marketplace is a curated assortment of respected, professional sellers who offer products and services in the celebrations category alongside our existing catalog of celebration products. We are seeking a dynamic and motivated professional to recruit and develop key accounts in the celebration space to sell their products and services on our marketplace.

The Business Development Manager is responsible for the recruitment, development, and onboarding of service providers in the celebration/event industry onto the Party City Marketplace platform. This individual is responsible for identifying and generating a curated list of prospects, building relationships with key industry influencers and business owners, and acquiring and onboarding sellers onto the marketplace platform. Ideally you are familiar with the marketplace ecosystem and have experience in seller recruitment and/or a sales background selling to independent local businesses. You will work directly with business owners to build rapport and become a trusted advisor to help accelerate their growth goals.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Prospect, qualify and recruit seller accounts in an assigned territory
  • Manage day-to-day operations and development of strategic accounts, building loyalty and nurturing seller goals and growth
  • Monitor and update sellers’ service and product catalog online
  • Communicate and align on promotions for sellers offers into Party City marketing channels
  • Implement and track KPIs to record seller success and use these metrics to guide work in developing areas of opportunity
  • Research and become a knowledge expert in the celebration/event professional space in your territories
  • Develop a clear understanding of selling on the PC marketplace to create strategies to promote the platform and attract prospective sellers
  • Ability to multi-task and manage numerous opportunities while maximizing the potential of the territory
  • Stay on top of competitive developments and industry trends to inform our service roadmaps and platform improvements
  • Bring insights back to your colleagues and functional leadership to help power our continually evolving products and processes
  • Meet or exceed all revenue, growth, and operational targets

Expected Salary Range: $80,440 - $100,550 

The salary range offered for this position is a good faith description of the expected salary range this role will pay. PCHI reserves the right to pay more or less than the stated range based on a variety of factors such as experience, geography, etc.

Job Requirements

Skills Required: 

  • Strong organizational and process orientation skills, presentation skills, and exceptional verbal and written communication.
  • The ability to communicate business and technical concepts to stakeholders at all levels of the organization

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferably in Business or Marketing
  • 4+ years in sales or business development role with experience in account management
  • Experience in ecommerce, digital advertising, or retail technology preferred
  • Ability to build relationships and navigate organizations to find the right points of contact
  • Ability to tailor a sales pitch for a prospect and combat common objections with confidence
  • Knowledge and/or work in the celebration and event industry a plus
