 Job Overview:

The Catalog Project Assistant is a key member of a high output desktop production team. This position requires laser focus and ownership of the pagination, proofreading and organization of 7 yearly product catalogs totaling nearly 3000 pages. In this role you are responsible for supporting the director, desktop artists, & key cross-functional partners throughout all phases of catalog production. Highly organized and extremely sensitive to deadlines you thrive on the challenge of staying ahead of production needs. As an agile and self-motivated team member, you provide crucial data throughout all stages of catalog production.  Responsibilities and Duties:

Pagination:

  • Create paginations for all new catalogs according to product line listings & established standards of production. This requires a baseline knowledge of InDesign.
  • Organization and tracking of new & existing product listings, editing product descriptions, placing FPO images, monitoring pricing, identifying variations, and optimizing product pages for maximum clarity
  • Work closely with the product development managers to coordinate deliverables
  • Communicate with director of catalog & product development teams on the construction of the pagination
  • Construct final pagination with a page count that meets print standards and preserves established catalog style
  • Gather precise information for licensed & trademarked product while maintaining confidentiality

Proof Reading: 

  • Ensure accuracy of catalog contents based on existing and new product lines
  • Monitor copy contents against established guidelines and database
  • Proof all desktop production output for content and conformance to specifications
  • Indicate content updates throughout the course of several stages of production and ensure changes were made as requested

Project Coordination:

  • Digital file organization and tracking of catalog pages throughout each production cycle
  • Daily organizational tasks relating to the workflow of all catalog collateral
  • Coordinate all rounds of catalog pages throughout department as directed or as required by schedule
  • Establish precise table of contents for each catalog produced
  • Support catalog team and collaborative partners as needed
  • Maintain and recognize key dates in project from start to finish
  • Provide accurate spreadsheets monitoring various deliverables
  • Ensure compliance of all product manager responsibilities during catalog production
  • Address and resolve issues regarding projects and other assigned tasks

 Skills Required:

 

  • Be vigilant to changes in catalog consistencies and work with team members to resolve discrepancies
  • Provide team assistance with regards to production questions as they arise
  • Self-manage repeating work assignments with priorities set according to production timeline
  • Schedule and admin meetings with collaboration support partners when needed
  • Special projects as assigned by director
  • Be respectfully disruptive. Engage in the established process and provide on-going strategic insights, recommendations, and growth tactics

 Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated planning, organization, and project management skills
  • Exceptional grammar, punctuation, and proofreading ability
  • Ability to work methodically to meet deadlines on several concurrent projects
  • Highly developed & concise verbal and written communication
  • Extraordinary attention to detail with peak level of accuracy
  • Possess a keen eye for typography, color, and layout
  • Flexibility in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. Mac platform preferred
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Acrobat, InDesign
  • Self-motivated, deadline driven, a bit of a perfectionist
  • History of managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • 3 or more years of related experience

 

 

 Expected Salary Range: $53,600 - $67,000

The salary range offered for this position is a good faith description of the expected salary range this role will pay. PCHI reserves the right to pay more or less than the stated range based on a variety of factors such as experience, geography, etc.
