Job Overview:
The Copy Writer is responsible for writing and editing custom web product content that will help our customers easily determine the details and specifications of Party City products.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Write, edit and proofread product copy
- Provide product content including headline copy, item name, catch phrase, and descriptive text
- Build product content records in our web admin system
- Assemble all components of product content and fine-tune copy for cohesion with product images and in support of SEO
- Assist with product content QA, including proofreading, preview and approval processes
- Meet all deadlines as specified by the copy manager
- Leadership team role for the copy team
- Ability to schedule and prioritize workload for copy team
- Ability to work cross-functionally on larger copy related projects
- Perform other duties as needed
Skills Required:
- Superior writing and editing skills
- Engaging writing style and an understanding of writing copy for SEO purposes
- Organized, energetic, flexible, team player who is cheerfully willing to wear many hats and change direction to meet business needs
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of experience in a writing role
- Experience (including published samples) with a magazine, online magazine, custom content, custom publishing or similar preferred
- Preference given to candidates with solid experience creating product content to support ecommerce, and/or experience in retail product sales for a consumer products/lifestyle brand
- Preference given to candidates with solid experience working hands-on in web admin systems, including light to moderate HTML tagging to format text content
- Journalism degree preferred
Expected Salary Range: $53,600 $67,000
The salary range offered for this position is a good faith description of the expected salary range this role will pay. PCHI reserves the right to pay more or less than the stated range based on a variety of factors such as experience, geography, etc.
