Job Overview:

The Demand Planner is responsible for all activities associated with managing demand and inventory across total PCHI inclusive of retail, wholesale, franchise, and independents to meet sales and inventory objectives by engaging with Merchandise Planning, Inventory Planning, Consumer Products, and Supply Chain. Delivers the aggregation of demand for a wholistic view of ownership to support long range forecasts, financial target alignment, and distribution center planning. Owns and maintains related reporting; seeks ways to drive efficiency and bring confidence to forecasts and order projections.

Responsibilities and Duties:

For a specific set of merchandise departments, the Demand Planner will

  • Own the wholesale forecast and overall inventory position from vendor to distribution center to ensure PCHI’s sales objectives can be achieved or exceeded
  • Work with consumer product outlets to incorporate future inventory needs into the total PCHI forecast
  • Aggregate total demand across Retail, Consumer Products, Franchise, and Independents
  • Ensure that Seasonal products are incorporated into forecasts that are leveraged by Sourcing, Manufacturing and Supply Chain
  • Manage and produce the long-range forecast (LRF) published to the vendor community and other partners
  • Support components of the roll-forward plan to drive accurate future visibility of sales, receipts, and inventory
  • Manage wholesale forecasts and inputs within the enterprise wide Relex demand planning application

  • Collaborate with Manufacturing on total demand by product by facility to effectively plan capacity and labor

    • Update and maintain accurate vendor and factory lead times
    • Identify weeks of supply opportunities within the distribution center to deliver total inventory productivity goals
    • Actively manage total inventory levels, partnering with PO management and Sourcing partners to pull up, push out, cancel, or shift orders as necessary

    • Assign primary and secondary suppliers in Relex through coordination with Sourcing and Inventory Planning

    • Incorporate capacity requirements by vendor into the forecast and order projections

    • Innovate with the Relex systems team to deliver enhancements that drive forecasting efficiency and accuracy

  • Job Requirements

    Qualifications:

    • 2-4 years’ experience in demand and inventory planning required
    • A bachelor’s degree required in business, statistics, or relevant field or equivalent experience
    • Comfortable handling very large data sets, and identifying the important information to drive business results
    • Ability to dissect complex business problems into an actionable plan for analysis
    • Comfortable formally presenting analysis and recommendations to management
    • Ability to integrate qualitative and quantitative information into a cohesive analysis and set of recommendations
    • Self-driven and highly motivated with a strong attention to accuracy and details
    • Strong mathematical and statistical knowledge
    • Capability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
    • Ability to work effectively within a team and build positive relationships cross-functionally
    • Expert technical skill proficiency (PC-based) using functions in Excel – v-lookups, pivot tables, etc.
    • Understanding of Relex demand planning system a plus

  • Office environment

    Expected Salary Range: $64,320-$80,400

    The salary range offered for this position is a good faith description of the expected salary range this role will pay. PCHI reserves the right to pay more or less than the stated range based on a variety of factors such as experience, geography, etc.
