Anagram International, Inc. is the consumer products manufacturing division of Party City Holdings, Inc. and is the largest manufacturer and distributor of balloon products and accessories in the world. In our Eden Prairie, MN and Bloomington, MN offices, we design and manufacture balloon products which are sold to consumers by Party City and other retailers, globally.

JOB OVERVIEW:

Reporting to the Art Director, the Graphic Designer will conceive, develop, and illustrate surface design solutions with a consistent design language to connect with our customers. The Graphic Designer exhibits a solid understanding of product and is an efficient problem-solver in a range of styles and techniques. The Graphic Designer will approach all balloon design with a global lens that considers territory-specific needs and nuances.

NATURE AND SCOPE JOB:

  • Reporting Structure: This role reports to the Art Director as a member of the Graphic Design team and partners closely with the Product Design team.
  • Product Creation: The Graphic Designer maintains a strong, steady production of proven and new, high caliber Anagram products and assumes technical, as well as aesthetic responsibility in the on-time completion of those assignments. The Graphic Designer pursues maximum product effectiveness through careful attention to editorial direction and/or product intent. The Graphic Designer is a dependable problem-solver and can bring any assignment within their styling range to a successful conclusion.
  • Team Interaction: The Graphic Designer works constructively with various creative teams toward the development of creative/business strategies and products.
  • Professional Conduct: The Graphic Designer assumes responsibility for their work on technical file creation. The Graphic Designer is responsible for being knowledgeable of day-to-day processes and procedures.

DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop fresh, innovative, creative approaches to products through the use of distinctive design styling for Everyday, Seasonal, and Licensed categories.
  • Establish a high level of design and aesthetic excellence that will enhance product perception at retail.
  • Efficiently manage workload while meeting all technical requirements for quality reproduction.
  • Execute with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy with an eye for design and layout.
  • Comprehend and utilize Licensor style guides to create designs and setup files per Licensor specifications.
  • Create detailed mechanical files utilized for production by the manufacturing team.
  • Develop and perpetuate good working relationships with the Product team, other studio members, and business units.
  • Work both independently and collaborate as part of a team.
  • Demonstrate a high level of responsibility and ownership.
  • Efficiently learn new tools and business processes.
  • Contribute to a positive “can-do” attitude on the team.
  • Willingness to adopt new ideas and learn new approaches.

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, EDUCATION REQUIRED:

  • 5 or more years of professional illustration experience (required).
  • Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Illustration (preferred).
  • A strong professional portfolio demonstrating “cute” illustration ability (required).
  • Ability to concept and compose engaging “cute” characters, scenes, patterns, textures, and typography (required).
  • Experience working with licensed designs (preferred).
  • Ability to draw in traditional mediums, as well as digitally.
  • Ability to match existing art styles.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, strong organizational skills, and attention to detail.
  • Heightened creative and technical abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to create precise, accurate production-ready files.
  • Ability to follow a project from concept to finished product.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Photoshop, Illustrator, Microsoft Word, and PowerPoint in an Apple/Mac environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and remain flexible through multiple revisions while keeping a keen eye on attention to detail.
  • Ability to thrive in a highly dynamic, deadline driven, fast paced environment, while managing multiple priorities.
  • Comfortable with asking questions.
