Job Overview:

The Inventory Planner is an individual contributor responsible for Party City’s retail inventory strategy focused on finished goods management from distribution center to stores for a specific group of departments.    Ensures optimal store inventory levels to maximize sales and margin and achieve targeted levels of in-stocks, in support of overall department and company profitability.  The Inventory Planner will also be a liaison between stores, logistics and other cross functional partners. 

 

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Execute daily/weekly deployment of product to stores to improve inventory levels, maximizing sales plans/trend.
  • Execute weekly forecast review and appropriate adjustments to improve item and store-level forecasts within Relex forecasting system
  • Deliver budgeted sales and margin by ensuring inventory levels align with store customer preferences enabling planned sell-through
  • Formulate inventory deployment strategy (pre-season & in-season), considering constraints and inputs, such as inventory levels by store cluster (tiering), timing of merchandise delivery, minimum presentation.
  • Develop and articulate fact-based analytical approach to deployment decisions, monitor results and action deployment adjustments with exceptional change agility
  • Analyze merchandise and store trends to unlock sales and margin opportunities.
  • Spark cross-functional action that improves the complexion of store level inventories.
  • Collaborate with the Merchandise Planner and Merchant partners to prioritize flow of product considering inventory constraints
  • Participate in category and cross functional meetings – leverage analytics to share insights that influence decision making
  • Consistently demonstrate analytical curiosity and socialize thoughts to drive action
  • Support inventory management between digital and store channels

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in finance, business preferred or equivalent experience
  • 2-4 years of inventory management and/or store analysis experience preferred
  • Experience in high volume, fast paced, retail environment
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities effectively
  • Ability to work collaboratively and influence multiple partners on business decisions and able to troubleshoot issues for best possible resolution.
  • Strong analytical skills – ability to analyze and understand quantitative data
  • General business acumen: should be able to understand the big picture and how tasks align to it
  • Intermediate to expert technical skill proficiency (PC-based) using functions in Excel – v-lookups, pivot tables, etc.

Expected Salary Range: $64,320 - $80,400

  • The salary range offered for this position is a good faith description of the expected salary range this role will pay. PCHI reserves the right to pay more or less than the stated range based on a variety of factors such as experience, geography, etc.
