Job Overview:

The Shift Supervisor will be responsible for the success of one or more assigned functions within the manufacturing plant. The Supervisor oversees all aspects of the production operation under the direction of the Operations Manager, including supervision, corrective action, and positive feedback to the production level employees. Will provide supervision to all employees during hours when functioning as most senior position on site. He/She will also be responsible for analyzing trends, problem solving and report directly to the Operations Manager. This role will be based in our Amsource facility in Rhode Island.

Job Requirements

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Understands and implements 5S, Lean Manufacturing, and Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Responsible for the quality of product produced within the shift to ensure company quality, systems, processes, and procedures are met.
  • Monitor, measure, and report on production related process, performance, and general issues.
  • Will establish manning for the shift daily.
  • Drives a culture of safety throughout the organization by following safety policies and procedures. Monitors safety, physical security, and operational metrics on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis including recommendations.
  • Ensure that training skills are met for current and future demands of the shift.
  • Play an active role in continuous improvement to achieve plans for future business growth.
  • Work closely with the other shift Supervisors to ensure production shift changes are coordinated effectively.
  • Maintains and approves time and production for employees on the shift.
  • Responsible for leading, coaching, and developing a team of hourly associates within assigned functions.
  • Notifies Maintenance department of equipment problems.
  • Other job duties as assigned.

Skills Required:

  • High School Diploma or High School Equivalency diploma.
  • 5 or more years of experience in a manufacturing environment and in a Supervisory capacity.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, off-set printing experience a plus.
  • Thermoforming or Plastics experience preferred.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate them when appropriate.
  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude while multi-tasking and working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to proactively problem solve and follow up in a timely manner.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel

 

ADA Physical Requirements:

  • Must always wear required PPE.
  • Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50lbs.
  • Must be able to walk and/or stand for the length of shift
  • Must be able to work in a manufacturing environment with extreme temperatures and noise.
