Job Overview:
The Operations Manager is responsible for planning and organizing the day-to-day operations with the goal of exceeding our customers’ expectations, both internal and external. This will be accomplished by having a culture of safety, increased production, asset utilization, and minimizing unnecessary costs while maintaining quality standards, and ensuring on-time delivery. The Operations Manager works directly with the Plant Leader to develop strategies and objectives to maximize productivity and leverage expenses for the facility. The Operations Manager must possess the ability to analyze trends, problem solve. The Operations Manager must also be highly self-motivated and have passion to develop team members in order to maximize contribution to the facility’s success.
Responsibilities and Duties:
• Provides leadership and direction in executing established KPIs for existing operations and delivers continuous improvement utilizing Lean Manufacturing tools, TPM methodologies, Good Manufacturing Practices, 5S standards, and Six Sigma tools.
• Develops and implements operations strategy, initiatives, and objectives in alignment with business strategy.
• Directly oversees supervisors and hourly team members across three operational shifts composed of around 140 team members utilizing servant leadership.
• Creates a culture where all team members are enabled, engaged, and empowered across all levels of the organization.
• Ensures proper reporting protocol is followed when safety incidents occur and investigations are completed, and tracks completion of action plans to close the gaps in performance.
• Monitors, measures, and reports out on production related process, performance, and general issues.
• Establishes daily staffing, ensuring that skill capability is met for current and future shift demands.
• Leads safety culture of the plant with a goal of a “zero injury” vision.
• Leads production planning to deliver on-time customer service to our internal and external customers, while developing optimal production schedules for the operation.
• Initiate and refine programs for cost and waste reduction.

Skills Required:
• Operations management experience in a medium to large sized industrial printing organization or department, with a track record of increasing productivity, profitability, and plant efficiencies.
• Previous change management experience (driving, influencing and inspiring change through communication at all impacted levels).
• Proven ability delivering on all operational excellence KPI’s noted by the S-Q-D/P-C-M scorecard.
• Experience in building and leading functional teams in a manufacturing environment while successfully instilling a sense of urgency and commitment.
• Strong record of safety performance with the ability to understand and follow EHS standards.
• Strong record of waste reduction and maintaining acceptable levels of scrap per work order as per the standards expected from the operation.
• Strong listening and facilitation skills in leading, mentoring, and developing a team.
• Ability to think creatively and appropriately challenge the status quo.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, operations and supply chain management, or equivalent experience working in a manufacturing environment.
• 5 years of management/leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Proven track record of continuous improvement ability.
• Advanced skills in managing change, adaptability, decision making, problem solving, and analytics.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
