Job Purpose

The Production Planning Manager supervises and coordinates production schedules across all manufacturing operations.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Develop Operations Plan to support sales
  2. Ensure appropriate capacity for future requirements
  3. Manage preventative maintenance schedules with facilities
  4. Perform root cause analysis on schedule adherence variance and work with Operations team to improve accuracy
  5. Obtain power-user status on Taylor Scheduling
  6. Provide and communicate monthly capacity planning information at Operations Planning Meeting
  7. Ensure appropriate supply planning tools are available and consistent
  8. Complete finite capacity planning
  9. Understand and be able to communicate changes in production processes, equipment availability and material movements that effect production schedules
  10. Document process, policies, and procedures
  11. Develop metrics for KPI's to ensure performance
  12. Communicate exceptions to appropriate people
  13. Test system modifications and reports as required
  14. Coach, develop, and mentor employees

Job Requirements

Qualifications, Skills, Education Required

  1. Bachelor’s degree
  2. Excellent written and oral communication skills
  3. Ability to work up, down, and across the organization to facilitate problem resolution, coordination, and communication
  4. Problem analysis and problem resolution on a functional level Ability to gather, analyze and validate data
  5. Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities
  6. 5 years minimum experience in production scheduling and inventory management in a multi-process operation
  7. 3 years minimum experience in a leadership position
  8. Capacity Planning / Materials Requirements planning using current Taylor / JBA or similar tools/systems
  9. APICS certification preferred
