Job Overview

The Transportation Project Manager is responsible for supporting the Director, International Transportation in supporting freight flow from source to ultimate destination through assigned and self-identified process and cost improvement projects as well as ongoing analysis, reporting and recommendations. The Project Manager is responsible for providing data to assist the annual budget creation, analyzing and providing feedback on performance of SLA targets, report on benchmarks and KPIs and provide input for corrective actions to meet KPI. Additionally, this individual will lead projects to: optimize the PCHI supply chain network, conduct RFPs for provider services, reduce costs, improve service/transit time and coordinate internal projects across multiple stakeholder areas

Core Accountabilities

  • Lead and support projects and RFPs to improve processes, streamline supply chain, and select providers.
  • Identify and recommend new projects/ initiatives to improve PCHI performance, efficiency and profitability
  • Support budgeting and forecast efforts through modeling, variance analysis and collaboration with Finance and SC Analytics
  • Provider scorecarding as well as identification and recommended actions on provider performance issues.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and vendors to ensure shipment and delivery plans are established and met throughout the year, with extra focus on peak weeks, Holiday weeks and special events.
  • Review and analyze existing business practices, procedure and processes, with the goal of establishing benchmarks and standards; identify improvements to efficiencies, existing business processes and service levels.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders such as Finance, Merchandizing, Inventory Planning, Stores and Operations, to lead or support interdepartmental initiatives
  • Maintain documentation of current processes, providers, reporting and results.
  • Responsible for oversight of the data management and archiving of freight flow information
  • Other related duties as assigned

Job Requirements

Skills & Competencies Required:

Business Acumen:

  • Advanced project management skills
  • 3rd Party provider management experience
  • Solid understanding of overall transportation and distribution pricing, operations and processes
  • Strong financial analysis skills and attention to detail
  • Experience working with company ERP/WMS/TMS systems and processes
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, with strong organizational and prioritization skills
  • Operate in a continuous improvement mode, with focus on quality, cost and delivery
  • Excellent written communication skills
  • Expert at organizing data in MS Excel

FLSA Working conditions:

  • Some travel may be required for meetings, 3PL management, facility visits (<50%)
  • Travel required up to 10-20% of the time and travel to China once to twice a year or as needed

Skills, Knowledge, and Qualifications

  • Bachelors’ degree or commensurate business experience

  • 3-5 years’ experience in supply chain/logistics/transportation

  • Demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills and organizational habits

  • Proven ability to interact effectively at all levels of an organization

  • Excellent presentation skills

  • Proven analytic and problem-solving skills

  • Expert level skills in MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Access, Project)

    Expected Salary Range: $80,440-$100,550

    The salary range offered for this position is a good faith description of the expected salary range this role will pay. PCHI reserves the right to pay more or less than the stated range based on a variety of factors such as experience, geography, etc.
