Job Overview

The Transportation Coordinator is responsible for supporting the Transportation Operations Manager in Inbound, domestic and international freight, managing 3PL providers, the carrier audit process, as well as invoice approvals and producing reports. The Transportation Coordinator is responsible for providing data to assist the annual budget creation, analyzing and providing feedback on performance of SLA targets, report on benchmarks and KPIs and provide input for corrective actions to meet KPI. Additionally, this individual will support daily operations for inbound freight, support 3rd party audit process, and work directly with key PCHI stakeholders to insure regulatory guidelines are adhered to.

Core Accountabilities

  • Provide reporting on tracking and visibility of shipments, provide daily reports on seasonal programs, and conduct daily processing of invoice data.
  • Monitor and maintain visibility to daily shipments and communication any delivery issues or delays to the Store Communications and Distribution Center teams.
  • Review reports, analyze vendor and financial performance, and provider volumes for visibility against performance and KPIs.
  • Identify booking and service issues and advise Transportation leadership of reported issues to obtain resolution.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and vendors to ensure shipment and delivery plans are established and met throughout the year, with extra focus on peak weeks, Holiday weeks and special events.
  • Review and analyze existing business practices, procedure and processes, with the goal of establishing benchmarks and standards; identify improvements to efficiencies, existing business processes and service levels.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders such as Finance, Merchandizing and Operations, to process any outstanding invoices, and review carrier A/R to ensure timely payments.
  • Process rate changes to ensure new rates are updated in systems.
  • Manage the daily reports and processes required to support seasonal distribution program and support the PCHI team in Asia to ensure success with current bypass programs
  • Work with Compliance team to have vendors, 3PL to provide all supporting documents
  • Other related duties as assigned

Job Requirements

Skills & Competencies Required:

Business Acumen:

  • Experience working with various transportation modes including: ocean, air, drayage, LTL, TL parcel, intermodal
  • 3rd Party provider liaison experience
  • Solid understanding of overall transportation pricing
  • Strong financial analysis skills and attention to detail
  • Experience working with company ERP/WMS/TMS systems and processes
  • Ability to proactively handle multiple issues simultaneously, with strong organizational and prioritization skills
  • Operate in a continuous improvement mode, with focus on quality, cost and delivery
  • Solid written communication skills
  • Comfortable organizing data in MS Excel (sort, filter, summarize, create a Pivot table, lookups)


  • Responsible for supporting, resolving or escalating daily issues to support the business
  • Daily responsibility for operational decision making to support flow of goods from source to destination, handling highly sensitive seasonal product flow
  • Documentation and archiving of shipment data (dates, cost, weight, cube, cartons)

FLSA Working conditions:

  • Some travel may be required for meetings, 3PL management, facility visits (<20%)

Skills, Knowledge, and Qualifications

  • Bachelors’ degree or commensurate business experience

  • 1-2 years’ experience in supply chain/logistics/transportation

  • Demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills and organizational habits

  • Proven ability to interact effectively at all levels of an organization

  • Excellent presentation skills

  • Proven analytic and problem-solving skills

  • Above average skills in MS Office applications

    Expected Salary Range: $44,680-$55,850

    The salary range offered for this position is a good faith description of the expected salary range this role will pay. PCHI reserves the right to pay more or less than the stated range based on a variety of factors such as experience, geography, etc.
