 Job Overview:

Reporting to CFO, the CIO will be responsible for Party City's technology strategy
and vision. This position requires the ability to work cross-functionally with decision-makers across the
organization to identify, recommend, develop, and support effective and efficient technology
solutions. The ideal candidate is deeply experienced in implementing digital and enterprise technology strategies at scale and can recruit and manage a high-performing technology team.
 

 Responsibilities and Duties: 

  • Work with business leaders and technology teams to establish near and long-term technology vision,
    objectives, and plan to support Party City's leading omni-channel experience to meet customer growth and retention as well as company margin and revenue objectives.
  • Lead strategy and development for all Party City technology systems including: e-commerce platform, site experience, merchandising, marketing technology, POS, wholesale technology, fulfillment software, CRM Software, connected devices, ERP to support functions like inventory & SKU management, order management, finance & accounting, data warehouse infrastructure, and corporate IT.
  • Evaluate technology environment for on-going opportunities to enhance customer experience, controls, security and data privacy, and cost optimization.
  • Collaborate with marketing to build a digital marketing technology strategy for owned, earned, and paid channels (e.g., web, email, affiliate, display, and search). 
  • Collaborate with Merchandising and Planning to execute all merchandising strategies with improved processes and tools. Additionally, ensure online merchandising is supported by best in class features in areas of navigation, internal search, personalization and check out.
  • Lead the continued development of a world class technology organization and platform utilizing the right mix of both building new engineering concepts as well as implementing best-in-class enterprise systems accounting for technical feasibility, cost and timelines.
  • Drive strong inter-team collaboration between technology and all other departments. Be a positive force in moving ideas from strategy to execution. Be the conduit to activate the teams and people to get things built fast and well. 
  • Coach direct reports through professional development plans cultivating leaders. Set clear, data-driven goals to define success for each individual and team. 
  • Instill a strong culture of excellence and development best practices throughout technology for development and deployment, testing, code quality, security, architecture review, internal control and
    strategic thinking.

Job Requirements

Qualifications: 

  • Proven success in a CIO role at a national retail organization, leading both consumer-facing
    digital technology and enterprise systems.
  • Experience designing and implementing omni-channel products such as Ship-From-Store,
    Buy Online Pickup In-Store, Same-Day Delivery, In-Store Mobile Solutions, etc.
  • Extensive cross-functional leadership experience partnering with marketing, merchandising,
    product development, finance, supply chain management and more to develop technology
    solutions.
  • Proven experience in developing a vision, roadmap, and successful technology framework.
  • Strong project management expertise
  • Superior analytical skills and attention to detail with good business judgment and maturity, diplomacy, and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proven proficiency in identifying business problems and developing and implementing complex, large scale technology solutions.
  • Exceptional people-management skills with high emotional intelligence.
  • Strong knowledge of internal controls and working with auditors (internal and external)
  • Strong vendor management and contract negotiation skills.
