Job Description

The Product Manager is a member of a Category POD team who is responsible for creating and driving the product development process from concept through production. This critical role is responsible for introducing innovative & trend right products, while negotiating costs with vendors to ensure the right products are introduced at the right price. This role is responsible for the establishment and maintenance of a product development plan to ensure all key milestones are achieved. The successful product manager works collaboratively with the Category POD team. This position has full product P&L responsibility which impacts the overall performance of the Product Category.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Responsible for the execution of the Category plan to achieve business goals
  • Leads pricing negotiations and generates multiple solutions and options
  • Conducts market research and possesses a high awareness of market trends
  • Responsible for the product development process from ideation to production
  • Partners proactively & collaboratively to meet margin and inventory goals
  • Reviews vendor quotes and analyses margins to determine product viability
  • Ultimate accountability for database accuracy, printed catalogs and communication
  • Manages warehouse and troubleshoots quality and testing issues

Job Requirements

Business Acumen:

Experience in the product development lifecyle is a required along with strong business and financial acumen. A strong understanding of gross margin. Ability to use data analytics to guide decisions & judgment.

Works to deliver the product development plan and achieve the financial goals set by the Category POD team. Puts customer first when making decisions.

Problem Solving:

Strong data management and project management skills required. The ability to find solutions and remove obstacle are required; understands the impact of decisions

Strategic Agility-Understands key relationships relevant to achieving short & long-range objectives.

Champions Change-Not satisfied with the status quo. Offers compelling ideas to advance the business. Leads change from the front.


  • College Degree Required
  • 2-4 Years of Product Development experience
  • Experience in a Product management or merchandising preferred
  • Advance Excel & Microsoft Office Skills
  • Ability to travel to the Woodcliff Lake, NJ office 2-3 times per week; Domestic and international travel minimal, but as needed

Expected Salary Range: $80,000-90,000

The salary range offered for this position is a good faith description of the expected salary range this role will pay. PCHI reserves the right to pay more or less than the stated range based on a variety of factors such as experience, geography, etc.
