Job Overview:

The Head of Total Rewards will focus on driving the total rewards strategy for our client through the creation and leadership of progressive and comprehensive total rewards programs.  The role focuses on the US retail and wholesale divisions. In partnership with the CHRO and HR team, the Senior Director of Total Rewards will build and evolve total rewards practices and programs enabling the attraction, retention and engagement of great talent.

The ideal candidate will be an influential business partner who is self-directed to build strong relationships and demonstrate effective thought leadership within an organization going through transformation.  The individual will possess a passion for enhancing employee engagement and delivering positive impact upon a growing multi-dimensional organization. They will have demonstrated success leading change and evolving the total rewards offering within their former positions, fostering a culture of positive employee engagement based on proven strategies.  The Head of Total Rewards will whole heartedly embrace the value of people and exemplify this philosophy consistently with a can-do attitude and entrepreneurial spirit at all times. 

 

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Establishes the alignment of total rewards programs across divisions.
  • Implements the strategic direction for compensation policy development and programs including variable pay plans, salary planning and budgeting cycles, as well as short and long-term incentive plans.
  • Develops, recommends and executes plans to address the business needs that will accelerate the Company's progress toward exceeding Company and business unit goals.
  • Advises and influences CHRO on all aspects of compensation, benefits, policies and practices.
  • Ensures compensation, benefit programs, and payroll policies comply with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Designs, evaluates and manages executive compensation programs for the Company's top executives while ensuring alignment with broader corporate, HR and total rewards strategies.
  • Partners with Chief Human Resources Officer to oversee the Board of Directors/Compensation Committee meeting preparation.
  • Manages executive compensation programs, including analysis of proxy disclosures from peer companies, benchmarking of executive compensation plans, and recommendations for new programs and modifications to existing programs as needed.
  • Monitors and analyzes benchmark data, trend information and economic projections to ensure the Company's total rewards and compensation strategy maintain a competitive market position and are responsive to the business needs.
  • Manages and optimizes vendor relationships, consultants and other external total compensation resources.
  • Communicates total compensation plans and programs to all employees.
  • Designs and evolves progressive and novel benefits programs to enable employees to proactively manage their wellness.
  • Develop overall company benefits philosophy and strategies and lead the implementation of same.
  • Lead the technology strategy to deliver employee and leader-friendly and efficient access to and management of total
  • Provides leadership, professional development and direction to the HR team in all matters such as job evaluation, job offers, total compensation assessments, special pay studies, and process improvements.
  • Develops and manages staff, administering coaching and training, setting goals, evaluating performance, and planning staff assignments and development; instrumental in approving people management decisions (e.g., recruitment, promotions, terminations, and salary changes).
  • Act as a key partner and thought leader to the CHRO in all things wellness and total rewards.

Qualifications:

  • 7 plus years’ operating in a global, complex, customer-focused business with at least 5 plus years of senior level leadership experience overseeing Total Rewards with a specific Compensation and Benefits skill set.
  • Manufacturing and /or retail experience required; preferably within an Omni-channel business model (retail, wholesale and e-commerce).
  • Proven track record and trajectory in organizations undergoing transformation (growth, restructuring, strategy shift)
  • College degree with an advanced degree in business/human resources, and/or PHR certification a plus.
  • Experience building and evolving total rewards functions specifically during organizational transformation.
  • Working knowledge of compensation and Preferred and Ideal certifications to include: CCP, CECP, CBP.
  • Excel and power point expertise.
